Whitewater is full of haunted places and chilling legends. Among them is the Hamilton House, which may be best known as the place where actor John Belushi rode his motorcycle down the stairs when it served as a frat house in the 1950s. The staircase is said to still bear the marks of this incident, which was famously depicted in the film Animal House.
But long before it was a fraternity residence, this beautiful 1868 Second Empire-style house was briefly home to the Posey family. They only lived there for a few years, but it was long enough to leave marks of their own that still seem to linger.
NOTE: The Hamilton House B&B website is no longer available and the property is currently for sale, so bnb-ing with these spirits might not actually be possible right now.

Andrew David Weber Band
Watch the latest episode of Sonic Seedpod featuring Wisconsin artist Andrew David Weber right here. Sonic Seedpod is a project I’m helping build that showcases Wisconsin bands (mostly—we’re filming our first out-of-state band BenjeeHoward this Friday, who are coming all the way up from Kentucky to be on the show!) because while the current state of the music industry is bleak, the local scene has never been more vibrant and interesting.
We’re involved with WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) and film the show right in downtown West Bend, WI in our studio in the lower level of the West Bend Music Academy (where Andrew is also a guitar teacher!)
After our shoot this Friday, BenjeeHoward will head down the street to 6th Ave Bar to share the stage with Andrew David Weber and more Sonic Seedpod alum. Show starts at 8pm. Details here »
